Love God, hate Allah (or visa versa)

I am getting more than just a little bit sick of propaganda against Muslim people.

If you see ANY video on T.V or the Internet which shows someone speaking Arabic using English subtitles and the word “Allah” appears amongst the English words, then IT IS PURE ANTI-MUSLIM PROPOGANDA.

For example, if one were to say “Muslims believe in Allah”, that statement is misleading and crafted to turn any English speaker who believes in God against Muslims, pure and simple.

Why? Because Muslims believe in God. If you see word Allah in and English translation, then it quite simply has not been correctly translated, almost definitely on purpose.

The word “Allah” is an Arabic word which means God. The same god, by the way, that most other people believe in.

Let me put it another way. Imaging you if you saw a Spanish movie in which a subtitle said; “Jesus is the son of Dios”. 'Dios' is the Spanish word for God. If it's not translated, its not correct. The point is to breed people who run around thinking that Muslims are evil because they believe in some horrible entity called “Allah”. This is not true and it sickens me to think how many idiots believe this.

Just one last time to be sure everyones got it. A Christian, speaking Arabic, says “Allah” for God, because it is the word which means God. So, by the way, does an Arabic speaking Jew.

Harvey Milk said; “More people have been slaughtered in the name of religion than for any other single reason. That, my friends, that is true perversion.”

What is worse is that the different religions who believe in the same God fight against each other, more because of a lingual misunderstanding than because of disagreement of faith. Yes there are guilty extremist on both sides.

As an example, I happened to be visiting my Moroccan friends the other day and they showed me television in English all about the Koran. Now the most important thing to note, was that the only word which wasn't translated was 'Allah'. It seems that those responsible for the television program were happy to perpetuate the idea that 'Allah' and 'God' are different.

I just don't see why people who believe in the same thing can work so hard to be enemies. I don't 100% see eye to with my brother or my parents, heck I don't always agree with my wife! But we get one we'll enough together. Why should the translation of a word cause so much strife. Could it be that most people don't realize its the same word, hence the same god.

There are of course many more things that the various religions disagree on. Heck people of the same faith often disagree. Take Christianity, how many people of that religion actually agree on absolutely everything (what passages of the bible mean, gay rights, abortion etc)?

The point is, I'm not trying to get people to agree, I just want people to understand. Lost in Translation is no reason for bloodshed.

'Dios' is Spanish for 'God'.

'Gott' is German for 'God'

'Allah' is Arabic for 'God'

By the way a 'Mosque' is a “place of worship”, given that it is God that Muslims worship, the only real difference to a 'Church' is the Architecture.
